Meet Brittany.
Her Beliefs.
- She believes the purpose of public schools is to nurture the potential of each learner.
- She believes in creating a culture of learning in which each learner feels welcome.
- She believes in the FCS Standards Mastery Framework as a way to highlight strengths and growth opportunities and measure what matters: the knowledge, skills, and habits needed to thrive in life.
- She believes professional learning should be tailored to the needs and interest of educators.
- She believes that exploring all aspects of history is the best way to prepare the next generation for the future.
- She believes books ought not be banned, even the ones that people disagree with or don’t enjoy.
- She believes public health and safety are a top priority in public schools. She trusts the scientific process and believes masks and other COVID-19 safety precautions should be used when community spread is high.
- She believes educators are superheroes in disguise. FCS must create conditions that encourage recruitment and retention of our state’s best educators during a national teacher shortage, including step pay increases.
